Advanced Laser Clinics Hair
Removal System
How does Laser Hair Removal work?
Laser Hair Removal is a faster, gentler way to remove unwanted
hair, with great results. It applies precisely controlled
pulses of energy (electrical and light, with cooling), reaching
into the hair follicles that lie beneath the skin. The energy
heats the hair, right down to the bottom of the root, destroying
it without damaging surrounding tissue or skin.
What does it
feel like?
Each pulse, which lasts less than a second, produces a slight
tingling feeling. In particularly sensitive areas, such as
the upper lip, it may feel like a quick, light pinch.
Is it suitable
for everyone?
At Advanced Laser Clinics we customize the treatment to exactly
match your hair and skin color and type. As long as there
is some color in your hair (even blond hair has enough color),
then our system will be effective.
What about
side effects?
The energies used by Advanced Laser Clinics (electrical and
light) are both commonly used in a range of medical and cosmetic
procedures that have proven to be safe. Most people experience
no side effects at all, though few exhibit some short-term
local reddening of the surrounding skin. You can return to
your regular activities immediately after treatment, although
it is advisable to keep the skin protected from exposure to
direct sunlight for a short period of time.
How many treatments
will I need?
Our technology destroys hairs that are in the active growth
phase, so repeat treatments will be needed to target hair
that was not affected at the time of previous treatments.
Normally six treatments are recommended to get the optimum
results.
What results
can I expect?
At the end of the treatment program you can expect your skin
to remain smooth.

Microdermabrasion
What is Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion is a scientific method, using fine, inert
(micro) crystals to progressively abrade the skin's surface.
It is used for skin resurfacing and treating a range of skin
abnormalities. This treatment has been used in Europe for
years; now this exciting procedure is helping men and women
in the United States experience remarkable improvements in
their skin texture, regardless of skin color. With our Microdermabrasion
skin treatment program, you can see immediate improvements
in your skin's appearance. This unique approach removes dead
and flaking skin cells and stimulates the production of fresh,
young skin cells and collagen.
What results
can I expect?
Depending on the area treated, you will notice an improvement
in your skin's appearance. Stretch marks and acne scars will
be less obvious. Age spots and fine lines are reduced, and
many patients report that their skin seems softer, tighter,
smoother and younger looking.
What are Microdermabrasion
treatments like?
Micro-crystals are vacuumed through a delicate hand piece,
which is held at a precise angle to the skin, producing a
skin-polishing peel. In as little as 20 - 30 minutes, this
gentle abrasive technique efficiently produces satisfying
results. Treatments are applied through a course of weekly
sessions. Microdermabrasion enhances the skin’s condition
by stimulating collagen production and does what no other
available non-surgical treatment can do in combating the signs
of aging skin. Most importantly, it is safe to use on all
skin types and colors.
How soon will
I see results?
After your first treatment, your skin will have a fresh, pink
glow and smoother texture. Improvements continue throughout
your treatment program. The number of treatments recommended
for maximum results ranges from five to 16 treatments.

FotoFacial™
About FotoFacial™ Treatments
FotoFacial™ Treatments are full face, neck and/or chest treatments using
pulses of visible light that effectively improve facial redness and
flushing as well as the visible signs of sun damage and aging.
FotoFacial™ Treatments were developed and first introduced by
Board-certified dermatologist, Patrick Bitter Jr. MD as a non invasive
method of photorejuvenation to improve the appearance of the skin with
no downtime. A non-laser medical device (MultiLight™ and Vasculight™ from
ESC medical) are used to deliver a series of gentle pulses of light to the
skin. Specific settings are selected for each treatment for optimal results.
A series of five or more treatments are performed at three week intervals.

The benefits of FotoFacial™ Treatments
The benefits of FotoFacial™ Treatments are consistent, visible improvement
in the skin with no downtime, little discomfort and minimal risk. With FotoFacial™
Treatments the embarrassing redness and flushing of rosacea can be greatly reduced
and sun damaged, aging skin can be dramatically improved.
What are the indications for FotoFacial™ Treatments?
FotoFacial™ Treatments are beneficial in the treatment of the following:
° Treatments effectively reduce redness and flushing.
° Sun damage (Photo-aging).
° Treatments reduce fine wrinkling, freckling and irregular pigmentation.
° Treatments smooth skin and reduce pores.
° Treatments reduce irregular pigment and even skin tone.
° Rosacea - FotoFacial™ Treatments reduce the overall redness, flushing and dilated capillaries and may
improve the breakouts of this common chronic facial condition.
What are the advantages of FotoFacial™ Treatments over
chemical peels and micro-dermabrasion?
Chemical peels, laser resurfacing and micro-dermabrasion ( eg. Power Peels) are ineffective
in reducing redness and flushing or dilated capillaries. Prior to FotoFacial™ Treatments
there was no effective treatment for flushing or facial and neck redness. With FotoFacialTM
Treatments there is little discomfort and no downtime or disruptions of normal activities.
The end result of FotoFacial™ Treatments is smoother, healthier and younger-appearing skin.
FotoFacialTM Treatments are also be used in conjunction with chemical peeling or micro-dermabrasion
to enhance the results of these procedures.
What areas can be treated?
FotoFacial™ Treatments can be used on any part of the skin. They are especially effective
for improving the appearance of the face, neck and chest.
What results can I expect?
You can expect to see a gradual decrease in overall redness, flushing and dilated capillaries.
People with visible aging from the sun can expect to see their skin become smoother with a
decrease in fine wrinkles, reduction in pore size and fading of sun spots. Many people with
rosacea see an improvement in breakouts and are able to decrease or discontinue their medications.
What is a FotoFacial™ Treatment like?
Each treatment takes approximately 15 to 30 minutes. A mild amount of discomfort can be expected.
Many patients prefer to use ELA-MAX, a topical anesthetic cream available at our office.
When ELA-MAX is used 30 to 60 minutes before treatment there is almost no discomfort.
There is no discomfort after treatments. Immediately following a treatment, the skin may
appear red and flushed and tiny capillaries may appear more visible. Brown spots generally
appear darker. All of these changes gradually fade over a period of hours to a few days.
How soon will I see results?
After your first treatment, your skin will feel smoother and will have a more even tone.
These improvements are gradual and will be more visible after each treatment. Five treatments
are performed for optimal results. Some patients will benefit from additional treatments
back to top^
Who are the best candidates for a FotoFacial™ Treatments?
The best candidates for FotoFacial™ Treatments are:
° People who suffer from rosacea and experience flushing and redness of their skin
° People with early aging changes and sun damage who desire healthier more youthful appearing skin.
° People who don't want to take the time off to heal from laser resurfacing or chemical peels.
° Active people who don't want to interfere with social or outdoor activities.

Resylane®
What is Restylane®?
Restylane® is a safe and natural
cosmetic dermal filler that restores volume and fullness to
the skin to correct facial wrinkles and folds, such as your
mouth (nasolabial folds).
What is Restylane® made of?
Restylane® is the first cosmetic dermal
filler made of non-animal based hyaluronic acid, a natural
substance that already exists in the human body. The hyaluronic
acid in Restylane® is a crystal-clear gel called NASHA™ or
Non-Animal Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid. NASHA is completely
biocompatible with human hyaluronic acid.
Restylane® maintains its shape using the body's own moisture.
The hyaluronic acid in Restylane® is hydrophilic or "water
loving." As hyaluronic acid gradually degrades, each molecule
binds to more water and over time, the same volume can be
maintained with less hyaluronic acid. This ability of hyaluronic
acid to bind to water is what helps provide lasting results.
How is Restylane® different than other hyaluronic acid-based products?
Unlike rooster-derived hyaluronic
acids and bovine collagen products, Restylane® is free from
animal proteins. This limits any risk of animal-based disease
transmissions or development of allergic reactions to animal
proteins.
Where can Restylane® be used?
Restylane® has been used in more
than 3 million treatments7 in over 70 countries to correct
a variety of wrinkles and to enhance the appearance of the
lip border. It is currently approved in the U.S. for the treatment
of facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds, which
are the lines from the nose to the corners of the mouth.
How long does Restylane® last?
Restylane® is proven to deliver long-lasting
results. Studies have shown that Restylane® effects generally
last for about six months. The unique NASHA™ technology helps
maintain the cosmetic effect until the injected material is
nearly gone.
Follow-up treatments are typically scheduled at six-month
intervals. (Individual results may vary.)
What can I expect?
You should take a few precautions
before being treated with Restylane®. One week prior to treatment
with Restylane®, avoid taking St. John's Wort, high doses of
Vitamin E supplements, aspirin, and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory
medications, such as ibuprofen. These agents may increase
bruising and bleeding at the injection site. Also, if you
have previously suffered from facial cold sores, there is
a risk that the needle punctures could contribute to another
recurrence.
Restylane® is injected directly into the skin in tiny amounts
by an ultra fine needle, resulting in minimal discomfort.
The procedure is simple and convenient and results are practically
instantaneous. To optimize your comfort during the short procedure,
your physician may decide to numb the treatment area.
Is Restylane® safe?
Since 1996, over 3 million Restylane®
treatments7 have been safely administered by dermatologists
and plastic surgeons in more than 70 countries. This innovative
treatment is now approved in the U.S. for the treatment of
facial wrinkles and folds.
Restylane® has a highly favorable safety profile. It's composed
of Non-Animal Stabilized hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid
is a substance found naturally in the human body. Restylane®
is fully biocompatible. There is limited risk of animal-based
disease transmission or development of allergic reactions
to animal proteins. No allergy testing is required before
use.
Based on clinical studies, Restylane® treatments produce a
low occurrence of adverse events. The most commonly reported
side effects were temporary redness and swelling at the injection
site. These effects typically resolve in less than seven days.
Precautions:
° The safety of Restylane® for use during pregnancy, in breastfeeding
females or in patients under 18 years has not been established.
° The safety of Restylane® in patients with increased susceptibility
to keloid formation and hypertrophic scarring has not been
studied. Restylane® should not be used in patients with known
susceptibility to keloid formation or hypertrophic scarring.
° The patient should be informed that he or she should minimize
exposure of the treated area to excessive sun and UV lamp
exposure and extreme cold weather until any initial swelling
and redness has resolved.
° If laser treatment, chemical peeling or any other procedure
based on active dermal response is considered after treatment
with Restylane® there is a possible risk of eliciting an inflammatory
reaction at the implant site. This also applies if Restylane®
is administered before the skin has healed completely after
such a procedure. back to top^
What does Restylane® cost?
Restylane® is injected in a customized
procedure based on your specific needs, so the cost will vary
from patient to patient. In general, the cost of Restylane®
treatment is comparable to the cost of similar procedures.
However, Restylane®'s lasting properties often prove to be
very economical over the long term. Please consult your physician
to determine the best recommendation for your particular needs.
What are the advantages of Restylane®?
Restylane® is natural, cosmetic
filler. Botox® is a drug that blocks nerve transmission and
relaxes the underlying muscles. Many patients have been very
pleased after receiving treatment with both products.
Restylane® is different than other hyaluronic acid-based products
and bovine collagen.
Unlike rooster-derived hyaluronic acids and bovine collagen
products, Restylane® is free from animal proteins. This limits
any risk of animal-based disease transmissions or development
of allergic reactions to animal proteins. Bovine collagen
is derived from cowhide and requires an allergy test. Restylane®
can be administered without pre-testing, so no waiting is
required.
Cosmelan®
What is Cosmelan®?
Cosmelan® Depigmentation treatment has an action mechanism based on the inhibition of tryosinase,
a basic enzyme in the melanin formation process. Several of the substances present in the Cosmelan®
formula act bt blocking this enzyme, or by inverting the metabolic process of the formation chain.
Where can Cosmelan® be used?
Even though the protocol is recommended for the face, in most cases can be used on
the top of the hands and sometimes in the chest area.
What are the advantages of Cosmelan®?
The Cosmelan® Depigmentation treatment offers a series of major advantages and benefits compared with other types of depigmentation products found in the market:
